Awards, Certifications, and Research
This section describes and lists any certifications, awards, research, and any achievements earned during my time as an undergraduate in the University of Central Florida.
Reflection
Whenever I earn an achievement or award or completed something big in my life, I take pride in what I do. In research, I learned many critical thinking skills and saw science as a constant puzzle. I had to find what that gap is in my TBI research as well as the Diabetes and Depression paper. This made me fall more in love with science. Not to mention, having some awards such as Dean's List, being in Knights of Distinction, completing certifications, and being a member of a month in Phi Delta Epsilon makes me proud of myself. These awards mean something that came out of the hard work and discipline. I always tell myself, "Motivation is not only something you can rely on. You must have the discipline to keep going on." I can implement this when I advance in life and when I have a career as a doctor.
Dean's List
During my time at the University of Central Florida, I had made it to the Dean's List for the following semesters:
Fall 2018
Summer 2021
Fall 2021

With hard work ethic, organization skills, and continued discipline, this is how I achieved my dean's list.
Knights of Distinction
I joined Knights of Distinction during my sophomore year of UCF. This program involved networking with people from my major, how to advance in college, as well as reflect on what I have done during my time at UCF. I have successfully completed activities such as filling out the milestone inventory, submitting evidence for the inventory, and crafting reflections for each of the 5 milestones. Linked in the logo is a link to all my work done for this program.
Phi Delta Epsilon Member of the Month
During the semester of Spring 2020, I became the member of the month. I had been an involved and active member for a year. So on February 25, 2020, I was awarded Member of the month.

First-Generation Knights
I am a first-generation knight. When I first entered college, I did not know how to navigate college. With the help of MASS at UCF, I had the guidance I needed to navigate through classes, what organizations to join, resources around UCF, and as well as some mentorship. Now, I will be graduating as a first-generation knight in Spring 2022. Linked is more information from First Generation Knights.
CITI Certifications
The following certifications completed are needed to participate in research at UCF. Additional certifications are needed to participate in other labs, but these three are the main ones needed to participate in lab. The three certifications include Conflict of Interest, Human-Subjects Research or Behavioral Research investigators and Key Personnel, and Social and Behavioral Responsible Conduct of Research.
Health Sciences Seminar Research Project
In the Fall of 2021, I took a class called Health Sciences Seminar which is essentially the capstone for my Health Sciences Pre-Clinical Major. 4 classmates and I explored how Traumatic Brain Injury is treated. Linked to the picture is a presentation of how Traumatic Brain Injury is managed through meditation and the use of the MUSE.
Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases Paper
Currently, in the Spring of 2022, 3 classmates and I are working on a population study paper titled "The Correlation Between Depression and Hospitalizations from Diabetes in Florida Adults."
