Hobbies
Outside of studying for my classes, these are a couple of things I like to do in my free time!
Reflection
Being a pre-medical student requires a lot of studying, volunteering, research, and academics. But, it takes away from enjoying life. A balance has to be met. During the pandemic, I realized this. Being a premedical student leads to the loss of mental energy which will definitely lead to burnout. In order to avoid burnout, I have to learn to reward myself, even if it's for a little bit. I took up going to the gym with my friends and I go out to eat with friends. Not to mention, I destress by playing the ukulele. Having a schedule to take care of yourself at the same time completing the premedical duties is something that should be talked about more. As I advance through my career, I have to remember to forgive myself when I am working my mind and body to the brink of burnout and to remember that it's fine to take a break once in a while. I also took this to heart from one of the doctors I shadowed: "You cannot take care of patients if you cannot take care of yourself." It is important to have grit, but knowing its time to take a break is key to living a balanced lifestyle.
Weightlifting
Weightlifting
Lifting weights is my way of releasing stress, physically and mentally. It began after December 2020 where I did not like the way I looked. I joined a gym, fixed my diet, and it became a positive habit. One of my favorite exercises is deadlifting.

Trying New Food Places
I love eating. Trying out new food places expands not only my mind but my tastebuds as well.

Playing Ukulele
Playing the ukulele is just relaxing. The sound that just comes out of the uke is just amazing. It's easily a stress reliever. .
Football Games
Football season, in general, is such an amazing time to bond with family and friends. I made the best memories when it comes to football. Whether it's a Saturday, Friday Night, or even a Thursday late afternoon, seeing all the football festivities is always a good time. Watching the games and seeing UCF sweep another team is the icing on the cake.
